Practice IP DIVERSITY - Ban Proof SEO Techniques for Internet Marketers

You know that search engines will give greater weight to a web sites backlinks - ie text links from other web sites - if and when those links are on domains hosted on diverse IP addresses.

Hmmm... that makes sense you know as in the real world a popular site has links coming in from all over the globe.

The quickest way to tell the search engines you are linking to your own web sites is to link from a site that is located on the same IP address. So, if all your domains are hosted with one host on one server there is a great chance they all share an IP or a block of IP addresses in the same class c block.

That can spell TROUBLE and trigger filters if you link among your own sites.

OH NO! I want to link to my own sites!

Fortunately, I found that there were web hosts offering dedicated servers for much less than I was paying and I adapted and spread my domains over 3 new servers with clean IP addresses. You see, the search engines, and Google in particular, had become so sophisticated that they could figure out that servers had IP addresses that were all in the same class C block, and if too many links came from the same IP range, it signaled a red flag to go up (it still does by the way) and theyd ban the interlinking sites.

So the solution that worked then and works now is what I like to call IP Diversity. Make sure that if you link your web sites among themselves that you make an effort to spread the domains onto different servers with as many different class c IP Addresses that you can.

By class C, I refer to the third octet in an IP address. example 212.16.17.14 - the 17 is the CLASS C. So, if you had a domain on a separate IP address 212.16.17.19 - it would be considered the same class C IP block and would very likely trigger a red flag to go up if there was an unusually high percentage of your overall links coming from a particular class c block.

So, if you want to make sure your sites are ban proof and do not get dinged with penalties or worse yet BANNED for linking within the same class c IP block, make sure you spread your web site domains with different web host all over the globe. You see, its just not natural for a web site to have TOO MANY links pointing to it from the same IP class it is in, OR from too many web sites within the same class c ip blocks.

If you really want to study this further I suggest checking out the excellent OptiLink software, or SEOElite, which can show you what IP Addresses the domains that are linking to you have. If you run one of those missions it will become clear to you when you see the IP addresses. So, if you want to make your sites ban proof, be sure to consider IP Diversity whenever linking to your own sites, or when trading links en masse with other webmasters.

If you can't afford a dedicated server, set up new free hosted accounts at wordpress or blogger and also get a free cheapo hosting accounts that go as low as $4.95 a month or so. That'll give you some IP diversity and allow you to be a bit more in control of your linking.

Rule 2 for search engine optimization and seo services: What is your Keyword?

The second basic rule is to help the search engine by letting it know what your keyword is. I say keyword advisedly since you should have one keyword per page if possible. It is stated by many SEO experts that spiders do not bother with Meta keyword tags, but they are wrong. The spiders do look at them as an indication of the content of the page, and then they go on to draw their own conclusions. It is a proven fact (because I have done it) that if you run two identical websites, that with meta tags in the html always ranks while that without cannot be seen in Googles listings.

Rule 3 for search engine optimization and seo services: Get Back-links

The third basic rule is to get as many incoming one way back links as you can. The best way to get these is through submission of articles to article directories. You are allowed to include your URL in these articles, and people who ant more information can click on your link and visit your site. However this is not part of search engine optimization. What makes it so is that each article provides a link back to your site from the directory. In addition, if people copy your article for their own website, they must include your details including your website URL.

This provides you with a one way link back to your website from every site that uses your article. This is powerful stuff, and can make a tremendous difference to your listing on Google and Yahoo. Links are so important that websites can appear on Googles first page for specific search terms on the basis of their links alone. Some have no content whatsoever but long lists of links.

you search for a certain something on a search engine it opens up a number of pages containing possible answers for your search. These answers are your search results and the pages which contain these are the SERP or Search Engine Result Pages. Your keywords are words or phrases which summarize or represent the main topic or subject of your site, when a search engine scans the body of your websites text it picks up these repeating words and match them with the words being searched if they match then you get a high ranking.

When selecting your keywords make sure you choose words which are most likely to be used by users searching for a site like yours or subjects covered by your site. After you have selected them sprinkle them abundantly within the text of your site. However be careful that you do not unnecessarily stuff them at inappropriate junctures cause that might attract criticism or even a penalty. Your keyword density per page can be anywhere between 5-15%, depending on of course how skillfully you might choose to repeat them. Make sure that you use your key words/phrases freely in the first two paragraphs of the text. Also, remember to include them in the concluding line of your text. But most importantly use them in your anchor text, certain Search Engines like Google put a lot of importance on the anchor text of your inbound links.
